In this adaptive reused project for
a local artist, the design reuses the historical depot for a residence, studio,
and gallery. The gallery space design is the best design to express the concept
of balance, dominant, and harmony. The gallery space uses Sherwin-Williams Show
Stopper, Stolen Kiss, Indigo, Cut the Mustard, Peppercorn, and Origami White to
create a triadic color scheme. These colors are frequently used by the artist in the art creating
harmony between the artworks and interior space. Moreover, the strongly Sherwin-Williams
Cut the Mustard color wall, in the entrance, represents the idea of the
dominant. The design focuses on “Sense of the place”, and retaining the feeling
of the historic depot. Finally, the Origami White color created balance between
other colors in the space. Altogether, the color use of this gallery design
successfully reflects the idea of balance, dominant, and harmony.
